Quick & Easy Curtain Solution

Dad needed a curtain for his office window.  It is a North facing window that doesn’t get much sun, but sometimes it is adequately annoying that he needs a curtain to dim out the bright light, and so asked me if I could sort him something out.

I made up a piece of cloth from off-cuts from 2 pairs of curtains I had shortened.  The colours went together beautifully, and were suitable for a man-pad!

There was an existing curtain pole in the office where the curtain was going to hang.  As the fabric was quite light-weight, I made a casing from the contrasting fabric so there was no need for hooks, or curtain rings or heavy curtain tape, keeping the project simple and zero-waste -zero-cost!!!!!  It all gathered up on the curtain pole and, voila, one simple curtain upcycled from some off cuts.

The tie-back was made from scraps of the fabric and I riveted a popper fixing on the ends for it to tie up.  I put a second fastener on the curtain in a concealed part so there is somewhere to hang the tie back while the curtain is closed.
