Repurposing A Fold-Up-Bed
A client approached me to see if I would be able to make a cover for her fold-up single guest bed that she had been using as a footstool. It was basically ok, but had seen better days and wanted to give it a makeover so it fitted in with the lounge décor now it had found its new purpose in life.
You know the type of fold-up bed I am talking about; Similar to the one in the picture here of one I found on the Internet (not an affiliated link)
We discussed what ideas the customer had, in terms of design, etc. and what fabric choices she was thinking about. I went off and looked at my go-to suppliers’ websites for ideas. It is not my place to discuss prices that were paid by my client. Suffice to say, we managed to find an absolute bargain: 5 meters of upholstery-quality fabric for the same price as 1 meter. It was one of those situations you always hear about but never seems to happen to you – Well it did this time!!!!!!
I always strive to respect the clients budget, but this bargain knocked it out the park, so to speak.
The result was a covered foot-stool, and 6 matching cushions, made to the customer’s design.
The Foot stool cover features piping detail and a concealed zip closure. All the cushion covers are removable with a zip fastening and two of them also include pipng detail with same colour fabric.
I always want to know that the customer is completely happy with their purchase, and consequently, one of the cushion covers was re-made and I think we were all very happy with the end result,
