If you are writing, there is nothing nicer than a beautiful pen that writes smoothly and flows over the page. That is why I have included these pens in my journal writing inventory. When teamed with one of my page-marker pen holder, the days of scratching around to find a pen that works are long gone. Trust me, customers I have sold them to, or when I have gifted them, users concur with me. The page marker pen holder and a gorgeous pen are a joy to have and use. They are worth their weight in gold.
I met the maker of these beautiful hand-crafted pens, David Sheperdson, at Warwickshire Open Studios in July 2019 where he was showing alongside another fabulous Artist, Alix Almond, who I am proud to call one of my closest friends. Anyway, I was really struck by the craftsmanship of the pens David made, so when I decided to develope a product range around the theme of Mindful Journaling, it seemed to me to be an ideal oppourtunity to ask David to create some luxury re-fillable pens for me to sell.
I did say to David that I was happy if they were all identical. I was happy for them to all be from the same wood. But, David is David, and he stayed true to his craft, and made sure that every pen was unique.
David showed me around his workshop. He has an array of wood from all over the world. He has made pens from piano keys, from coloured pencils, from guitar picks, you name it, he was probably worked with it, if it can be turned on a lathe. The pens are refillable with Papermate pen refills, making them a very sustainable product.
